§ 70.075 LIMITED LOAD STREETS.
    (A)   Except as provided in divisions (A)(1) and (2) below, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any motor vehicle on any street or alley within the City of Pinckneyville when the gross weight of the vehicle on the surface of the road exceeds 14,000 pounds.
      (1)   The load limit established in division (A) above shall not apply to police, fire or emergency vehicles while the operator thereof is engaged in the performance of his or her duties, nor shall it apply to persons engaged in repairing or otherwise improving streets or alleys under the authority of the Council of the City of Pinckneyville or the State of Illinois, nor shall it apply to persons operating motor vehicles engaged in the delivery or pickup of goods or services for use by residents of the city or for use by businesses within the city in which case the vehicle may be driven for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the delivery, nor shall it apply to persons operating motor vehicles involved in the collection of garbage and trash within the City of Pinckneyville. Notwithstanding these exceptions to the limit set forth in division (A) above, it shall be unlawful to drive or operate any motor vehicle on any street or alley within the city with a weight, including load, in excess of that permitted by the State Vehicle Code for driving on an improved highway or with weight distributed in a manner not conforming to the State Vehicle Code.
      (2)   The load limit established in division (A) shall not apply to vehicles operated on the following streets within the City of Pinckneyville:
         (a)   Illinois State Route 154 also known as Water Street;
         (b)   Illinois State Route 13/127 also known as Main Street;
         (c)   Grant Street;
         (d)   County Road;
         (e)   Fairgrounds Road;
         (f)   Front Street;
         (g)   East Parker Street from South Main to South First Street;
         (h)   West Parker Street from South Main to Mill Street;
         (i)   South Mill Street;
         (j)   West South Street from South Mill to South Douglas;
         (k)   South Douglas Street from West South to West Ozburn Street;
         (l)   West Ozburn Street from South Main to South Douglas Street;
         (m)   Wilson Street from South Mill Street to Virginia Court;
         (n)   Virginia Court from Wilson Street to Ritter Street;
         (o)   South Walnut Street;
         (p)   West Kaskaskia Street;
         (q)   West St. Louis Street from Grant to Lookout.
   (B)   Notwithstanding these exceptions to the limit set forth in division (A) above, it shall be unlawful to drive or operate any motor vehicle on the streets and alleys listed in division (A)(2)(a) through (i) above with a weight, including load, in excess of that permitted by the State Vehicle Code for driving on an improved highway or with weight distributed in a manner not conforming to the State Vehicle Code.
