A. The vehicle for which the emergency vehicle permit is issued shall at all times when in use as such be equipped with at least one of the following: a red or red and blue lighted lamp; a red or red and blue lighted lens visible under normal conditions from a distance of five hundred feet to the front of the vehicle. The vehicle must also be equipped with, and while in motion must, as reasonably necessary, activate a bell, siren or exhaust whistle.
B. The vehicle for which the emergency vehicle permit is issued is subject to inspection by the director upon notice duly given.
