The county administrator is authorized to maintain a program of self-insurance for the county by renewing necessary policies. The county administrator is authorized to contract with the broker of record to purchase an excess limits workers' compensation policy in the amount of five million dollars, the retention by the county per occurrence to be two hundred fifty thousand dollars; to procure a bond satisfactory to the industrial commission in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars; and to do all other acts necessary to implement and maintain the workers' compensation self-insurance program.
