A. Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to promote the preservation of individual plants and plant communities of protected and primarily upland plant species native to Pima County, Arizona, by adopting comprehensive requirements for the preservation-in-place, transplanting on-site, and mitigation of protected native plants and native plant communities.
B. Scope. This chapter provides requirements and regulations for the preparation and implementation of native plant preservation plans. These requirements promote protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare by reinforcing the findings in Section 18.72.020 of this chapter. Standards and procedures for implementing the requirements of this chapter are located in the native plant preservation manual adopted by resolution of the board of supervisors.
