(a) Fire hydrants shall be provided by the subdivider in all subdivisions with public water supplies in accordance with City standards and in consultation with the Fire Chief. The hydrants should be located between property lines and curbs with all outlets facing or parallel to the street. Hydrants shall be spaced a maximum distance of 400 feet apart and shall be located so as to provide complete fire protection for the development.
(b) The location of hydrants shall be recommended by the Fire Chief. The minimum size of any water line serving any hydrant shall be six inches in diameter. The size and location of water lines shall be approved by the Engineer.
