SECTION 5.04. LAW DIRECTOR.
   Council shall appoint and may remove the Law Director. The Law Director must be an attorney at law admitted to practice in the State of Ohio. The Law Director's salary shall be established by Council by ordinance. The Law Director shall be the legal adviser of and attorney and counsel for the City and for all officials, boards, commissions, and departments thereof in all matters relating to their official duties; and shall, when requested, give legal opinions in writing. The Law Director shall represent the City in all litigations to which it may be a party and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to the office of Law Director by law as well as those imposed by this Charter and the Ohio Revised Code. The Law Director shall upon request prepare all contracts, bonds, and other instruments in writing in which the City is concerned and shall endorse on each the Law Director's approval of form and legality of purpose thereof. Council shall have the right to employ additional legal counsel. The Law Director shall not represent the local Board of Education unless specifically authorized by Council.
