SECTION 4.05. ABSENCE, DISABILITY, RESIGNATION, OR REMOVAL.
   The City Manager may designate, by letter filed with the City Clerk, any qualified Division Head or Department Director of the City to perform the City Manager's duties during the City Manager's temporary absence or disability. In the event that such a designation has not been made, or if the absence is to exceed thirty (30) days, Council may, by resolution, appoint a qualified Department Director to perform the duties of the City Manager until the City Manager shall return or the disability ceases.
   In the event of resignation or removal of the City Manager, the Mayor shall appoint an Interim City Manager to serve as the Acting City Manager up to but not exceeding sixty (60) days. Prior to the expiration of the sixty (60) days, the Mayor shall appoint with the concurrence of Council an Acting City Manager for a period outlined in the resolution. The Acting City Manager shall perform the duties of the City Manager until the Mayor appoints with concurrence of Council a new City Manager.
