The purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum standards for the registration of contractors to protect the health, safety, property and welfare of the general public and the owners and occupants of buildings. The intent of this contractor registration chapter is to install a system for the registration for contractors. There is no intent to require a property owner to use a registered contractor for doing anything on existing structures.
