No vehicle shall be placed or left standing for any purpose whatsoever within a distance of 25 feet from any street intersection, which distance shall be measured from the point of intersection of curb lines, and if there are no curbs, from within 15 feet of the intersection. This section shall not apply where parking spaces are designated within the designated area.
