Street lights are not offered as a municipal service. Street lights have been made available by the municipality on a limited basis in various locations within the municipal limits, generally in the older developed areas, however, modern development standards and policies of the municipality require the developer to install lighting for all new developments. Street lights are, therefore, not offered as a municipal service and are considered to be a "developmental amenity" (the developer is required to install and the homeowners' association maintains street lighting suitable to the development). The municipality will, under certain limited circumstances, consider the installation of street lights on a limited basis and in special situations through a process administered by the Board of Public Works.
