The Street Department is also responsible for sweeping streets to remove debris of various types. The effort is made to sweep municipal streets during non-winter months, with an anticipated annual goal of sweeping each street approximately once per month within the constraints of the budget, personnel and equipment available. The Street Department contracts with INDOT to sweep the urban segments of state highways, such as SR19, in the incorporated area.
