1020.06 BOND REQUIRED; CONDITIONS.
   Before any person is authorized, and before a written permit is issued, to open or break into the streets and other public grounds, there shall first be deposited with the Municipal Clerk by the applicant for such permit a surety bond of an approved surety bonding company which shall be executed by such bonding company in the City, to the approval of the Director of Public Safety, in the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00). Such bond shall be conditioned upon the permittee’s securing and holding the City harmless against any and all claims for damages arising from the opening or excavation so made, and upon the permittee’s filling up and placing in good and safe condition, to the satisfaction of the Director, all openings and excavations so made and replacing or repairing the pavement. An annual bond may be given on January 1 of each year, conditioned as provided above, which shall be applicable to all openings and excavations made in the streets and other public ways and public places by the principal on such bond for a period of one year from such date.
