1020.02 EXCAVATIONS; PERMIT REQUIRED; APPLICATION; DURATION.
   (a)    No person, other than the Director of Public Service-Safety or his authorized agent or employee, shall make any opening in any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way without first obtaining a permit therefor prior to commencement of the work, as herein provided.
   (b)    Each permit for making such opening shall be confined to a single project and shall be issued by the Director. Application shall be made on a form prescribed, giving the exact location of the proposed opening, the kind of paving, the area and depth to be excavated and such other facts as may be provided for.
   (c)    Permits shall become void after one year. A permit can be extended for a period of one year by order of the Director. (Ord. 82-74. Passed 2-11-75.)
