§ 33.001  PURPOSE AND AUTHORITY.
   (A)   The State General Assembly, by its passage of I.C. 36-8-10-3(a), has made mandatory the establishment of a sheriff’s merit board in each county of the state.
   (B)   There is hereby established a sheriff’s merit board to be known as the County Sheriff’s Merit Board (hereinafter “the Board”), to have the organization, powers and duties and rules of procedure hereinafter set forth in §§ 33.002 through 33.042
