§ 91.56 REDEMPTION FEES.
   (A)    (1)   The Animal Control Officer shall not release any female dog or other animal for adoption unless:
         (a)   It has been spayed prior to release;
         (b)   The Animal Control Officer collects the fee for spay surgery to be performed by a licensed veterinarian within a stated period of time following release; or
         (c)   Written permission for adoption of the female has been granted by the Administrator.
      (2)   Failure to fulfill terms of this agreement shall be grounds for seizure and impoundment of the animal with forfeiture of the fee and ownership of the animal.
   (B)   For every dog or other animal taken up and impounded, as provided by this chapter, there shall be paid to the licensed animal shelter by any owner of such dog, or other animal, the fees set by the Administrator as approved by the Village Board of Trustees. In addition, the owner of a dog or other animal four months of age or older, not currently inoculated against rabies and registered as provided elsewhere in this chapter, must have the dog or other animal inoculated against rabies and registered at the time of release from impoundment.
   (C)   The fees as set by the Administrator shall be in addition to any other penalties invoked under this chapter.
