When a vehicle is authorized to be towed as provided in § 72.17, the law enforcement agency authorizing the towing shall proceed to locate the owner of said motor vehicle and in the event it cannot be done shall proceed to dispose of said vehicle as provided in the Illinois Motor Vehicle Code, ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5 §§ 4-203 through 4-212.
