§ 72.10 PARKING OF TRAILERS.
    (A)   For purposes of this section, the following definitions shall apply:
      TRAILER. Every vehicle without motive power in operation, other than a pole trailer, designed for carrying persons or property and for being drawn by a motor vehicle and so constructed that no part of its weight rests upon the towing vehicle (see ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 1-209).
   (B)   Except as otherwise provided in this section, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to park any trailer, whether licensed or not, on any street, highway, or parkway within the village, or upon any property within the village zoned for residential use unless the trailer is at all times parked in a completely enclosed garage. The permitted exceptions are:
      (1)   Trailers being used in the normal course of construction work being performed on the premises may be parked on the premises during the period of construction.
      (2)   Trailers being used in the normal course of construction work being performed on the premises immediately adjacent to the portion where the trailer is parked may be temporarily parked on village roadways for a period not to exceed 12 hours.
      (3)   Trailers of utility companies used to provide emergency services and providing services within the village may be temporarily parked on village roadways or within residential zones during such time as the utility company employee assigned the use of the trailer is off-duty but on-call.
      (4)   Recreational vehicles and trailers may be parked within a residential zone under the following conditions:
         (a)   Limit of two total per property of recreational vehicle and/or trailer.
         (b)   Limit only one recreational vehicle or trailer in the front yard.
         (c)   No matter the location (front, side or rear) the surface must be a surface large enough to fit the entire vehicle or trailer and be concrete, pavers or asphalt material.
         (d)   No gravel surfaces are allowed for parking recreational vehicles or trailers. The exception is an existing gravel driveway as of enactment date of this section. No extension of an existing gravel driveway is allowed.
         (e)   Recreational vehicle or trailer must be at least ten feet from any adjacent dwelling.
         (f)   Recreational vehicles and trailers must be licensed by the State of Illinois, in good working condition and operable.
         (g)   RVs or trailers cannot be in the parkway or within two feet of the sidewalk.
