It is the purpose of this chapter to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare by providing for the regulation of the planting, maintenance and removal of trees, shrubs and other plants on village owned property within in the Village of Peotone (hereafter referred to as "the village") this includes only trees and shrubs on public land, except in the case of overhanging branches or sight line issues.
