6-1-5: REMOVAL OF OFFICERS; SUBPOENA PROVISIONS:
   A.   Any police officer who shall be served with a subpoena to appear and testify or to produce books and papers issued by the village board of police commissioners or by any commissioner or board member or any person acting under orders of the board in the course of an investigation or hearing conducted under the provisions of 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-17 and who shall refuse or neglect to appear or to testify or to produce books and papers relevant to the investigation or hearing as commanded by such subpoena shall, upon conviction, be fined as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code, plus those court costs and attorney fees necessarily incurred in the prosecution thereof. In addition to the remedies above set forth, the board of police commissioners is hereby authorized to apply to the circuit court of the 10th judicial circuit of this state for an order compelling the attendance of witnesses, the production of books and papers, and the giving of testimony before the board of commissioners, or before any such commissioner, board member or officer, by attachment for contempt or otherwise in the same manner as the production of evidence may be compelled before such court.
   B.   Pursuant to any duly issued and served subpoena, the fees of witnesses for attendance and travel shall be the same as the fees of the witnesses before the circuit court of the 10th judicial circuit of this state and shall be paid from the appropriation for the expenses of the board of police commissioners as approved by the village president and board of trustees.    C.   Every person who, having taken an oath or made affirmation before a board member, commissioner or officer appointed by the board authorized to administer oaths shall swear or affirm wilfully, corruptly or falsely shall be guilty of perjury and, upon conviction shall be punishable accordingly.
