CHARTER
THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE
WHEREAS, The Town of Pendleton, State of South Carolina, heretofore incorporated, is desirous of surrendering its Charter, and accepting incorporation under the provisions of Article 4, Chapter LI Section 4562, of the Code of 1922, Volume 3,
AND WHEREAS, the Town Council of said Town has submitted the question to a vote of the qualified electors, and has certified the result accompanied by the sworn return of the Managers of said election, by which it appears that the vote was in favor of surrendering the Charter and accepting incorporation under said Article 4, Chapter LI, Section 4562 of the Code of 1922, Volume 3.
NOW, I, W. P. Blackwell, Secretary of State, by virtue of the authority in me vested by the laws of the State of South Carolina, do hereby certify that the Town of Pendleton is duly incorporated with the privileges, powers, and immunities, and subject to the limitations prescribed in said Chapter LI, Volume 3, Code of 1922, Article 4, Section 4562, and amendments thereto.
