§ 38.03 DUTIES AND POWERS.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall carry out the duties of the Chief of Police and supervise and manage the functions of the Police Department relating to public safety and the enforcement of ordinances, state and Federal laws; organize the police department of the town in conformity with the laws of the state and ordinances of the town; and shall promulgate procedures, rules, directives and orders for the administration of the department, including but not limited to, coordinating with and supplementing the law enforcement assistance from Anderson County Sheriff's Department. The Chief of Police will promulgate policies for the department, which shall be subject to approval by the Town Council.
   (B)   The town is authorized to apply for Federal and state funds for the purpose of reestablishing and maintaining a police force in Pendleton, South Carolina.
   (C)   The duties of the Pendleton Police Department are intended to supplement and do not replace any services provided under any of the town's agreements for enhanced law enforcement services with Anderson County Sheriff's Department.
