The Police Department shall consist of one person known and designated as the Chief of Police and such other officers as the Town Council may approve, who shall meet the criteria and requirements of the laws of the State of South Carolina for law enforcement officers including, but not limited to successful graduation from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and rules as may be prescribed by the Town Council from time to time. The Chief of Police shall be responsible for the deputies or police officers as may be designated by the Town Council. The Town of Pendleton is an "at will" employer.
