SOLE SOURCE PURCHASING (under $5,000) is defined as purchases from a single vendor without competitive bidding. This is only permitted where there has been determination to standardize that product, there is only one vendor of the product, or it is impractical to obtain other bids. The Purchasing Agent shall document the need or reason for sole source procurement and keep a copy of document on file.
