For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GARAGE SALE. The sale of any used personal property, which sale conducted on or about the premises of a private residence located in a residential neighborhood, by the occupant of the premises and open to the public. This is to include yard, attic, porch, room, backyard, patio, flea market, rummage sale, and the like.
PERSONAL PROPERTY. Property which is owned, utilized, and maintained by an individual or members of his or her residence and acquired in the normal course of living in or maintaining a residence. Personal property does not include merchandise, goods or produce which were purchased for resale or obtained on consignment.
