5-1-3: PROHIBITED ACTS AND CONDITIONS:
   A.   Driving On Sidewalks: Any person who shall drive or cause to be driven any horses, cattle, mules, wagons, automobiles, or vehicles of any kind across any of the sidewalks within the city, other than at the regular street or alley crossings shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (1975 Code § 8-117)
   B.   Clinging To Vehicles: No person riding upon any bicycle, coaster, roller skates, sled or toy vehicle shall attach the same or himself to any vehicle upon a roadway. (1975 Code § 5-903)
Any person violating the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (1975 Code § 5-913; amd. 1989 Code)
   C.   Braking System Regulations:
      1.   Brake Noise: Except in an emergency situation, no person shall, while operating a motor vehicle within the city of Paul, apply or otherwise use "jake brakes", engine compression brakes, any similar braking system that uses compressed air from a motor vehicle's engine to slow the vehicle, or other braking system that produces a clearly audible noise when measured at a distance of fifty feet (50') directly from the source.
      2.   Emergency Situation: The term "emergency situation", for the purpose of this subsection, shall mean one in which there is an imminent danger of collision with property, a person or animals.
      3.   Exclusions: The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to "authorized emergency vehicles" as defined by Idaho Code section 49-123.
      4.   Infraction: Any person who violates this subsection shall be guilty of an infraction. (Ord. 2003-4, 12-10-2003)
