The Police Department chain of command shall run from the Mayor to the Chief of Police and from him or her down through the officers of the Department in order of rank to the patrol officers; and it shall be unlawful for any member of the Police Department to disobey or fail to comply with any lawful order given him or her by a superior officer in line of duty.
