6-1-7: INSPECTION:
The applicant in the course of construction, installation or repair shall request and the city shall inspect, or cause to be inspected, city approved improvements such as buildings, fire hydrants, culinary and irrigation water systems, sewage disposal systems, streets, curbs, gutters, drainage systems and sidewalks. Excavations for fire hydrants and underground water, sewer and drainage improvements shall not be covered or backfilled until such construction and installations have been inspected and approved by the city. If any such construction and installations are covered, or street base and course is paved, before being inspected and approved, it shall, after notice to uncover or remove has been issued by the city to the applicant, and at the applicant's sole cost, be uncovered or removed and the proper procedure followed. In such case, the applicant is responsible for the direct, incidental and consequential damages that may arise from covering or backfilling or paving prior to obtaining the required city inspection and approval.
