The chief of police, in denying an application for a parade permit, may authorize the conduct of the parade on a date, at a time or over a route different from that requested by the applicant. An applicant desiring to accept an alternate permit shall, within five (5) days after notice of the alternate route, file written notice of acceptance with the chief of police. (1988 Code § 12-4-7)
