§ 40.207 PARKING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
The city will designate certain parking places on the city’s residential streets and cause to be placed at these designated parking places the necessary sign to identify the parking places as parking for persons with disabilities under the following conditions.
   (A)   The city must receive a written request from the city resident requesting that a parking place in front of or near their house be designated as a parking place for persons with disabilities. This request must be accompanied with a copy of the document showing that the person making the application has a valid and current disabled parking tag or disabled persons license registration.
   (B)   Once the application has been received, the city will investigate to see if the applicant has access to suitable off-street parking.
   (C)   The city will make the final determination of whether or not to designate a parking place for persons with disabilities based upon the information in paragraphs (A) and (B), while attempting to retain as much adequate on-street parking for those individuals not possessing disabled parking tags as possible.
   (D)   The unlawful or unauthorized use of this on-street parking space for persons with disabilities shall be punishable as provided in § 40.700.
