It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector, or other officer or employee as may be designated by the City Council, to enforce the provisions of this subchapter, and to make inspections or tests as may be necessary in connection therewith. Whenever a test is necessary to determine whether any equipment or method complies with the standards prescribed or referred to in this subchapter, the enforcing official may accept the results of a test conducted by or under the supervision of the Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc.
