There is hereby adopted for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain code known as the NFPA Life Safety Code, 2000 Edition, published by the International Code Council, Inc., as amended and the whole thereof, and from the date on which this section shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling as the official code of fire prevention within the city’s jurisdiction.
