Upon notification by the city’s communications department that an audible alarm is activated, the permittee, his or her representative, or his or her alarm agent, shall immediately proceed to silence the alarm, and the silencing shall be finished within 30 minutes. Alternately, the alarm system may be equipped with an automatic shut-off device which shall silence the alarm within 30 minutes, thus eliminating the need for a personal response as otherwise required by this section.
