1480.06 PROHIBITED SIGNS.
   The following signs are prohibited in the Village and if existing shall be removed:
   (a)   A sign which prevents free ingress to or egress from any door, window or fire escape, or which is attached to a standpipe or fire escape;
   (b)   A sign erected at a street intersection in such a manner as to obstruct free and clear vision or at any location where, by reason of the position, shape or color, the sign interferes with or obstructs the view of traffic or can be confused with an authorized traffic sign or signal or is otherwise confusing or misleading to traffic;
   (c)   Commercial variable message signs and flashing signs are restricted according to the requirements of Section 1480.17;
   (d)   A revolving beacon;
   (e)   A roof sign;
   (f)   A sign attached to a utility pole;
   (g)   A sign painted on the wall of a structure;
   (h)   A sign located on property other than the property on which the business it advertises is located, unless said sign meets the following criteria, in which case it shall be allowed:
      (1)   The sign does not exceed seven feet in height;
      (2)   The maximum surface area of each side of the sign does not exceed thirty-five square feet; and
      (3)   The sign is located at a second point of access for adjacent commercial lots with cross- access to each other.
   (i)   A sign located on property other than the property on which the use to which it relates is located, unless said sign meets the following criteria, in which case it shall be allowed:
      (1)   The sign does not exceed eight and one-half feet in height;
      (2)   The maximum surface area of each side of the sign does not exceed forty-five square feet; and
      (3)   The sign is located on property immediately adjacent to property owned by a unit of local government and relates to the unit of local government’s use of its property.
