864.10 NOTICE FOR REGULATING SOLICITING.
   (a)   Every person desiring to secure the protection intended to be provided by the regulations pertaining to soliciting, as contained in this chapter, shall comply with this section. Notice of the determination of the occupant of giving invitations to solicitors, or refusing them access, to the residence, shall be given by the exhibition, on or near the main entrance door to the residence, of a weatherproof card, approximately three inches by four inches in size, containing the words, as applicable, "ONLY SOLICITORS REGISTERED IN PALOS PARK INVITED" or "NO SOLICITORS INVITED. " The letters of such words shall be at least one-third inch in height. Such card may also contain notice as provided in Section 864.09. Such exhibition of such card shall constitute sufficient notice to a solicitor of the determination by the occupant of the residence of the information contained on the card.
   (b)   Every solicitor, upon going onto any premises in the Municipality upon which a residence is located, shall first examine for the notice provided for in subsection (a) hereof and, if any is attached, be governed by the statement contained on the notice. If the notice states "ONLY SOLICITORS REGISTERED IN PALOS PARK INVITED," then a solicitor not possessing a valid license, as provided for in this chapter, shall immediately and peacefully depart from the premises. If the notice states "NO SOLICITORS INVITED," then the solicitor, whether licensed or not, shall immediately and peacefully depart from the premises.
