864.09 NOTICE TO PROHIBIT UNSOLICITED MATERIALS.
   (a)   Every person desiring to secure the protection intended to be provided by the regulations pertaining to the distribution of unsolicited material, as contained in this chapter, shall comply with this section. Notice that a person in control of a residence does not consent to the distribution of unsolicited materials at such residence shall be given by the exhibition, on or near the main entrance door to the residence, of a weatherproof card, approximately three inches by four inches in size, containing the words, as applicable, "NO UNSOLICITED MATERIAL INVITED. " The letters of such words shall be at least one-third inch in height. Such card may also contain notice as provided in Section 864.10. Such exhibition of such card shall constitute sufficient notice to a solicitor of the determination by the occupant of the residence of the information contained on the card.
   (b)   Every distributor, upon going onto any premises in the Municipality upon which a residence is located, shall first examine for the notice provided for in subsection (a) hereof and, if any is attached, be governed by the statement contained on the notice. If the notice states "NO UNSOLICITED MATERIAL INVITED," then the distributor shall immediately and peacefully depart from the premises and leave no unsolicited material at such premises.
