256.13 OVERTIME; COMPENSATORY TIME OFF.
   All Village employees who work in excess of the standard hours established in Section 256.12 shall be compensated as follows:
   (a)   The Village Manager , the Village Clerk and department heads shall not be paid overtime. The Village Manager, the Village Clerk and department heads of the Village are salaried and do not receive overtime, but may claim compensatory time off when the demand of their work requires them to work beyond thirty-five hours per week. Requests for compensatory time must be approved by the commissioner in charge of the department or the Mayor prior to the taking of any compensatory time. When additional work hours can be reasonably anticipated, prior approval of the commissioner in charge of the department or the Mayor shall be obtained.
   Compensatory time may be used only after it is earned, and it shall be used during the pay period in which it was earned or the pay period immediately following the pay period in which it was earned.
   (b)   For Village employees other than those specified in subsection (a) hereof, any hour worked in excess of forty hours in a seven-day period shall be compensated at a rate of one and one-half times the employee's regular hourly rate.
