§ 101.35 ENFORCEMENT.
   (A)   At the conclusion of any proceeding held under § 101.34, if a majority of the Commission finds that an owner, real estate agent or other person complained of has committed a prohibited action under this chapter, the Commission shall be empowered to recommend to the City Council that the City Council order such owner, real estate agent or other person to cease and desist from such practice, upon such terms as shall be deemed necessary and proper by the City Council for the enforcement of this chapter.
   (B)   At the conclusion of any proceeding held under § 101.34, if a majority of the Commission finds that an owner, real estate agent or other person complained of has committed a prohibited act under this chapter, the Commission shall be further empowered to recommend to the City Council that the City Council direct the City Attorney to do any one or more of the following:
      (1)   To institute and prosecute proceedings in a court of law against said owner, real estate agent or other person, to obtain a conviction of a violation of this chapter.
      (2)   To petition or institute proceedings with the appropriate regulatory body for the purpose of causing the regulatory body to revoke, suspend or refuse to renew the license granted by such regulatory body to any real estate broker, real estate salesperson, insurance agent, or appraiser found by a court of law to have violated any provision of this chapter.
      (3)   Upon conviction by a court of law of any violation of this chapter by any person in the course of performing under a contract or subcontract with the state or any political subdivision or agency thereof, or with the United States of America or any agency or instrumentality thereof, to petition or institute proceedings with such contracting agency for the purpose of causing it to terminate such contract or any portion thereof, either absolutely or on condition of compliance with the provisions of this chapter.
      (4)   Cause a complaint to be filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and/or the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
      (5)   Seek provisions for the public interest such as, but not limited to:
         (a)   Elimination of discriminatory real estate practices;
         (b)   Prevention of future discriminatory real estate practices;
         (c)   Remedial affirmative activities to overcome discriminatory real estate practices;
         (d)   Reporting requirements; and
         (e)   Monitoring and enforcement activities.
      (6)   Any other actions or proceedings which the City Council determines appropriate.
