(A) The police force of the city shall consist of not more than 28 full-time regular police officers.
(B) The police force shall consist of:
(1) One Chief of Police;
(2) Two Lieutenants;
(3) Five Sergeants; and
(4) Twenty Patrol Officers.
(C) From the above ranks, the chief of police may appoint no more than two deputy chiefs of police as set forth in § 35.04-1.
