The duties of the building commissioner shall be:
(A) To have general charge and supervision of the erection, construction, alteration, repair, removal, use, and inspection of all buildings, structures, or portions thereof and accessories thereto within the city, and to enforce all ordinances relating thereto.
(B) The building commissioner shall examine all plans for building and zoning permit purposes. He shall have charge of building inspections on all buildings, structures, or portions thereof in connection with work that has been authorized by a permit.
(C) The building commissioner shall perform further duties as the building and zoning ordinances require.
