If the Building inspector or any other authorized agent of the city shall find any sign in violation of the terms of this chapter, the Building Inspector or agent thereof shall serve written notice of such fact upon the owner, lessee, occupant or any agent or person having the care or control of such sign or signs. Such notice shall specify a time period within which the sign(s) must be brought into compliance. The penalty for disregarding proper notice shall be assessed in accordance with procedures as established in § 10.99 of this code of ordinances.
