§ 54.36 SEWER DEDUCT METER.
   (A)   The town will make available to its water and sewer customers special water meters, hereinafter referred to as “sewer deduct” meters, to be attached to the customer’s outside water spigot and used to calculate water usage outside of the customer’s business or residence which does not enter the town’s sewage collection and treatment system.
   (B)   Usage by the customers of the sewer deduct meters shall be permissible from April 1 through September 30 of each year.
   (C)   The water customer is responsible for picking up the sewer deduct meter from the Utility Clerk at the town hall in the spring and returning it to the Utility Clerk at the town hall in the fall of each year.
   (D)   The water customer is responsible for the full cost of the sewer deduct meter and any damage, repair, maintenance, or replacement of the meter. If the meter is damaged, the customer is responsible for replacing it at his or her own expense.
   (E)   Sewer deduct meters may not be lent to, or used by, other water customers and must remain with the particular real estate for which it was originally supplied.
   (F)   Customers who utilize the sewer deduct meters for purposes of reducing their sewer bills are responsible for reading the sewer deduct meter on the last day of each month and calling the Utility Clerk on the last day of each month with the metered usage. If the last day of the month falls on a weekend or a holiday, then usage must be reported to the Utility Clerk on the next available day on which the utility office is open. Failure to provide usage to the Utility Clerk on the last day of each month will result in no sewer deduction being allowed for that month.
