§ 155.21 WALL GRAPHICS.
   (A)   Subject to the requirements of the Appendix, Table of Basic and Auxiliary Design Elements, any activity may display wall graphics. Wall graphics may be attached flat to, or pinned away from the wall, but may not project from the wall by more than 12 inches.
   (B)   The permitted area of wall graphics is shown by the Appendix, Table of Basic and Auxiliary Design Elements, which indicates the percentage of the signable area of the building or structure which may be utilized for wall graphics. The signable area shall be determined by choosing one such area on the building wall or facade below the height limits for wall graphics established by division (D) (2) of this section, and by then calculating the number of square feet which are enclosed by an imaginary rectangle or square which is drawn around this area. The signable area established on one wall or facade shall not be credited to another wall or facade. In no case shall the sign exceed 10% of the total wall area.
   (C)   In calculating the sign area for comparison to the signable area of a building, the following provisions also apply:
      (1)   If the graphic is enclosed by box or outline, the total area of the graphic, including the background, is counted as part of the sign area. If the graphic consists of individual letters, the area between the letters is counted as part of the sign area as if an imaginary rectangle is drawn around the entire graphic.
      (2)   A graphic may not cover or interrupt major architectural features.
   (D)   Wall graphics are subject to the following height limitations:
      (1)   Wall graphics placed in the space between windows may not exceed in height more than two-thirds of the distance between the top of a window and the sill of the window above, or major architectural details related thereto.
      (2)   No wall graphic on a single story building may be higher than the ground graphic permitted for the same activity at the same location permitted by the Appendix, Table of Basic and Auxiliary Design Elements. Wall graphics for multiple story buildings may extend to the top of the wall.
