549.10 DISCHARGING FIREARMS; TRAPSHOOTING; HUNTING.
   (a)    No person shall discharge or explode or have in his possession for any such purpose within the City any cannon or torpedo of whatever description, cartridge, blank cartridge or discharge any other pistol, revolver, gun, or explosive or place upon any railway track, or place under or upon any vehicle or any other moving object, any explosive. This section shall apply to any person, firm or corporation and to their officers, agents, servants and employees, but does not apply to discharges as set forth in Section 505.11 or subsections (b) and (c) hereof.
 
   (b)    Trapshooting shall be permitted only within the area defined by Section 505.11(c) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Trapshooting is not permitted nearer than four hundred (400) feet from any structure unless permission has been given by the landowner or tenant and must not be for profit.
   (c)     The provisions of this section shall not apply to the use of explosives or cartridges for legitimate commercial or industrial purposes or firearms training at an approved firearms range. An approved firearms range is one that provides for the safety, health and welfare of the users of the range with safety standards equal to those specified by the United States Government and is under the immediate control of an instructor certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council or a nationally and/or state equivalent certification.
 
   (d)    Whoever violates any provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
