1327.10 TRANSFER OF UNCLAIMED DEPOSITS TO THE GENERAL FUND.
   The Village Treasurer is authorized and directed to transfer to the General Fund any funds deposited with the Village in accordance with Section 1327.01 and Section 1327.07 that are not claimed by a lawful owner within five years from deposit, and provided that the funds are no longer subject to being used by the Village for the purpose for which they were deposited. Prior to such transfer, the Village Treasurer or a designee shall provide written notice to the person who deposited the funds. Notice shall be sent by a method capable of establishing proof of receipt to the last known address of that person which is of record with the Village, and by the same method to any other lawful owner that may appear on Village records relating to the unclaimed deposit, that such deposit will be transferred to the General Fund in accordance with this section if a written request for the deposit is not received within thirty (30) calendar days. In the event that the Village is unable to confirm receipt of such notice, it shall provide notice by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village.
