12.26.050: TEMPORARY EVENT SIGNAGE FOR NONPROFITS:
The provisions of sections 12.26.020, 12.26.030 and 12.26.040 of this chapter shall also apply to allow temporary signage for public events and announcements for nonprofit organizations within the city of Okmulgee. Provided, however, the permit shall be at no cost to the nonprofit organization and the deposit may be waived by the city manager upon application. Failure of the nonprofit to abide by previous permits or remove signs after event shall be grounds to deny waiver of the deposit. The nonprofit applicant shall submit state approval as a nonprofit entity along with the permit application, unless it is a school, religious association or community organization functioning within the city of Okmulgee for more than one year prior to the application. The event or announcement contained in the sign must be open to the public. The time frames set forth in the foregoing sections pertaining to "elections" shall be deemed to be pertaining to the "event", if there is not a specified date, the permit shall be valid up to a maximum of ninety (90) days from the date of the permit.
