§ 90.20 TAGS AND LICENSE REQUIRED.
   (A)   (1)   Any person owning, keeping, harboring or having custody of a dog(s) over six months of age within the county must obtain a dog tag for each dog. Further, each owner of a dog within the county shall ensure that such dog at all times wears a collar made of a durable material to which is attached at all times the dog license tag, in addition to the required rabies vaccination tab.
      (2)   There is no licensing required for cats, however, under state statutes, cats (excluding feral cats) and ferrets over the age of three months are required to be vaccinated against rabies and display the current rabies tab. Licensing is recommended for cats because it increases the number of lost pets returned and facilitates enforcement of animal control and cruelty laws. It also promotes neutering and spaying.
   (B)   Dog tags under this subchapter will be issued individually for each dog, or in the event a person maintains four or more dogs, or had a kennel as described herein, such person may apply for a kennel license in lieu of an individual license for each dog.
