2-6-1: PURPOSE:
The purpose of this division is to ensure that all public bodies within Ogle County understand the procedures to be followed in dealing with the intake, evaluation and response to citizen requests for public records pursuant to the Illinois freedom of information act, 5 Illinois Compiled Statutes 140/1 et seq. (Ord., 5-16-1989)
2-6-2: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this division, the following words shall have the meaning given herein:
FOIA: Illinois freedom of information act as enacted at 5 Illinois Compiled Statutes 140/1 et seq., as hereafter amended.
PUBLIC BODY: Any legislative, executive, administrative or advisory bodies of Ogle County.
PUBLIC RECORDS: All records, reports, forms, writings, letters, memoranda, books, papers, maps, photographs, microfilms, cards, tapes, recordings, electronic data processing records, recorded information, and all other documentary materials, regardless of physical form or characteristics, having been prepared, or having been or being used, received, possessed, or under the control of any public body.
REQUESTOR: Any person who submits a request for public records in accordance with this division. (Ord., 5-16-1989)
