10-4: RETIREMENT:
   A.   Voluntary Termination: Retirement is a voluntary employment termination initiated by the employee who meets the age, length of service and any other criteria for retirement from the City.
   B.   Notice: In order for employees to receive all retirement benefits to which they are legally entitled, it is important for them to provide the Utah State Retirement Office with as much advance notice as possible, at least thirty (30) days. This advance notice will allow the applicable Retirement Plan Administrator to coordinate with the City's Personnel Office to make proper determination of the retirement benefit amount, and the date when those benefit amounts shall commence.
   C.   Effective Dates Of Separation: The Utah State Retirement System recognizes only the first and the sixteenth days of any month as the effective date of separation from employment for the purposes of determining both retirement benefit amounts and the date when those benefits shall commence.
