The purpose of this policy is to provide information and guidelines to all departments in regard to notifying residents of emergent and nonemergent events that may impact them. Although there are many communication methods available, this policy is directed at the phone based emergency notification system. The emergency notification system works geographically. Those informed are based on landlines assigned to the area as well as a voluntary cellphone registry to that area. (Eff. 10-18-2013)
