1180-14: MAXIMUM MATURITIES:
As stated in the Utah state money management act, "the remaining term to maturity of the investment may not exceed the period of availability of the funds to be invested". The operating and capital funds of the city are pooled to obtain maximum return on investment and to simplify administration of the investment program. Recognizing the overall short term (1 year and under) duration of the budget cycle and normally anticipated cash flow, maturities will not exceed a maximum of five (5) years and will most often be three (3) years or less.
